Desmond Scott
Artist Statement:
My work is often directly inspired by the theatre, particularly Samuel Beckett & Shakespeare which is not surprising since I am an actor and director as well as a sculptor. Frequently, I find that a line from a play will stand out and give me the gesture and impetus I need for a sculpture but even when a piece is not specifically theatrical I still like there to be a sense of the dramatic in it.
