Srdjan Segan
Artist Statement
I work mainly with the media of drawing and sculpture. My work explores static movement and tensions within the human body before actual movement. With sculptural work and long drawings, I am interested in activating relationships with architectural form, to place drawings in ways that would break and create new tensions in an architectural space. By combination of scale, site-specific installation, and juxtaposing the precise and expressive, my work aims to generate novel and interative environments in which viewers moving through are physically and visually challenged to react and see afresh; and by way of this, to connect to the consciousness of our own physical and spiritual presence.
