Helena Ogorzelec
Artist Statment
In this work-in-progress I was looking for Canadian theme as an inspiration. Canada is a majestic country because of its natural wonders. An example is an iceberg, which is disappearing in an enormous rate because of global warming, rapidly changing Canada's position on the world's map. Bringing the iceberg to the gallery space would be unthinkable, but I wish to have that chance. I have chosen to work with the wire since 1998. This medium is very rewarding for me especially of the transparency in work giving the piece another dimension.
