Canadian Sculptures' Society

Judy Raymer Ivkoff

I work intuitively. I am expressionistic and individualistic in both my means and methods. My subject matter centres on elements of the natural physical environment within the context of movement, order, time, energy, rhythm, and regeneration. The materials I use are wood, stone, and metals and are worked in combinations.
I take two distinct paths in my work: the single statement and the series. The single statements are complete in themselves. A series usually has fixed parameters; the materials remain constant and the components become interrelated on-going narratives, allowing me continual exploration of my subject.
