Artist Statement
My work is driven by a constant pursuit of pushing boundaries – whether it’s testing my own capabilities, challenging the expectations of my audience, or exploring the limits of my medium. Each piece I create is an experiment in defying the natural properties of materials, striving to make the impossible seem plausible. For example, I am drawn to the challenge of making stone appear unnaturally bent, inviting viewers to question how such a rigid material could achieve such fluidity. Similarly, I design sculptures that defy gravity, creating works that appear to levitate or balance on the edge of collapse, as well as delicate, supremely thin forms that seem on the verge of breaking under their own weight.
The broken sculptures that fill my studio are not failures, but the remnants of these ambitious explorations. They are physical manifestations of my process – proof of my willingness to risk imperfection in the pursuit of discovery and innovation. For me, sculpture is not just about creating form; it’s about transforming the limitations of material into new possibilities.
Through my work, I invite my audience to experience the tension between fragility and strength, between the known and the unknown, and to engage with the art in a way that sparks curiosity, wonder, and contemplation.
